![]() ![]() I originally reached out to Albert and his team at Fulfilled Veteran Project because after I separated from the military, I was rated at 10% and upon talking to some teammates that I served with I realized I was severely under rated by the VA.Īfter my first meeting with Albert, I turned over my existing medical records and let his team along with the folks at REE Medical get to work. Would definitely recommend to anyone else who has been initially low-balled by the VA, which is probably most people who have applied. That part was most definitely not fun, but it serves you and the process well, so grit your teeth, dig deep and do what it takes for a little while so you can be cared for appropriately the rest of your life.Īlso have to give kudos for going over "next steps after you get your final rating" to help you with a long-term plan for success, even though their job is technically done once the ratings decision comes back in your favor, it shows the kind of team/service focus that was so critical during all our time in uniform. Looking back, that was probably the biggest reason it took me almost a year to complete. ![]() I saw an increase in nearly every area from the long list of the hits I took while in uniform and even the addition of a couple of new items that put me undeniably beyond the mark.Ī decently-sized component is being able to get over the traditional service member mental habit of minimizing and downplaying your damage, and being honest with what that does to you every day. It wasn't a simple process for me, but if you are willing to put in some work, you should be able to expect good help in getting your rating more closely aligned to your reality. The back pay from my original intent to file wiped out the VA debt from my reserve drills, with a good chunk left over. I was able to submit my final packet in October, and had a VA decision before February. ![]() I'm happy to say that Albert and the extended team at REE Medical helped shepherd me through the finer points of the process, and the investment of part of our tax return and some working time throughout the year ended up being a sizeable investment in our future. My wife was very skeptical initially, and I'm sure I asked a lot of questions that had an undercurrent of suspicion. Making the bump from 90 to 100 doesn't seem like much on paper, but it has a BIG impact for my family. After a little more than a year, I have finally received my 100% T&P rating from the VA. ![]()
